Welcome to Sigma Lambda Chi 4-H Club! Dues are $15.00 for the year. You must pay it by September 19, day of our next meeting.

 

We will have snacks and drinks at each meeting. You can bring something to share too.

Come learn how to complete a Mini-Booth for the fairs. You can enter in the Valley Ag. Fair and if you place in the top 5, you can enter it in the G.N.F. Choose a category and get your information together. Learn at the workshop how and what to do to make a winning mini-booth.

Snacks will be served too!

NEW GEORGIA 4-H AMBASSADORS

 

Congrats to the new 4-H Ambassadors. Five are from Harris County! They will represent 4-H for the state of Georgia in their specified area. Everyone goes to a training weekend on Aug. 17 in Athens on the UGA campus. Have fun!

at the Health Department

Thank you to everyone who helped pack school supply bags and volunteer at the rush. It was a huge success. Over 300 people came by and got school supplies and did the activities we offered. Couldn’t have done it without your help.

GA 4-H Roadside Jingle Contest

 

Do you have a talent for creating rhymes? Come up with one for 4-H!

 

The winning slogan will be displayed in a series of road signs during National 4-H Week, October 7—13. Enter as many jingles as you want. First place is also $50! DUE TO THE 4-H OFFICE BY AUG. 24, FRIDAY.

 

Ask for an Entry Form for rules. Must be 6-7 lines long and the last line must be “Georgia 4-H”.

Georgia 4-H Holiday Card Contest

Entries due October 5 (receive a Clover Point)

 

Rules:

1. All entries must be the student’s original drawing on an 8.5 x 5.5 inch (or 5.5 x 8.5 inch) sheet of white, unlined paper.

2. All entries should somehow include 4-H in the theme for the message or design. Also, please try to use a universal “holiday” theme, rather than depicting one specific holiday. Keep in mind that the winning card will be sent to donors and friends of 4-H that may be from many different backgrounds/cultures.

3. All entries must be colorful, so they can be reproduced on the holiday card if selected as the grand prize winner.

4. Each entry must be accompanied by an official entry form filled out by the 4-H’er and signed by the county 4-H agent.

5. All 4-H members (5th—12th grades) are eligible to participate.

6. Entries must be turned into the 4-H office no later than October 5.

7. If any of the above rules are not followed, the entry will be automatically disqualified.

GET YOUR FAMILY TO JOIN THE DAWG FAMILY

 

           Are you ready to HUNKER DOWN with the nationally ranked University of Georgia Bulldogs? Gather your family on Saturday, September 15, 2007, and travel to Athens to cheer the Georgia Bulldogs on to victory against the Western Carolina University Catamounts for the 33rd annual “4-H Day UGA”. Game ticket is $42.00 and t-shirt is $12.00 (XXL and up is $15.00). Tickets are limited! You can join the Pre-game festivities and have a meal with Georgia 4-H at the South Campus Tailgate. The cost for Tailgate including the meal, freebies, goodie bag, and all activities is $13.00 per adult ticket and $9.00 per child (age 7 and under). The UGA cheerleaders and Hairy Dog will also hold a pep rally to fire up the Dawgs at the Tailgate.

           Deadline to order is August 22, Wednesday at 4:00 PM. Come by the 4-H office to order your tickets. Check, money order or cash only. Transportation is not provided by 4-H
