Congratulations to Members of the Livestock Judging Team that placed at Area and are going to State!

Haralson County 4-H Livestock Judging Teams will be going to State in Athens on March 29. The Junior Team is Haleigh Johnson, Scott McIntire, Rose McLarty, and Megan Smith. Other Junior members that competed at area were Morgan Presley, Savannah Ross, and Jacob Smith. The Senior Team is Traci McLarty, Keri McLeroy, Justin Woodring, and Michelle Woodring. We are proud of all of them!

Haralson County 4-H Alpaca Show

The Haralson County 4-H Alpaca Club held their first show on January 12, 2008 at the Callaway Livestock Pavilion. There were 8 4-H'ers that participated. The High Point Cloverleaf Winner was Angel Williams. The Pre-Cloverleaf Winners were Matthew Malone and Nathan Hardin. Congratulations to all that showed!

Peanutrition Contest

Congratulations to the 12 Cloverleaf participants! Thanks for your creative Peanut Butter Sandwiches.

Cloverleaf DPA

Haralson County had 25 Cloverleaf 4-H'ers participate at DPA at Georgia Highlands College on January 26, 2008. There were 4 first place winners, 2 second places, and 4 third place winners.

Shotgun
The Shotgun Team is meeting every Sunday at 3:00 pm at the Smith Farm. They are preparing for Area and State Competitions. If you are interested in participating you must have a Hunter Certification Number and be in the 7th - 12th grades. The cost is $80. Please call 770-646-2026 for more information.

Judging Activities

Poultry Judging will start on February 25 at 3:30 pm at Callaway Livestock Pavilion. Come out and try your hand at judging. Practices will continue on Mondays until the contest on April 22 in Calhoun.

Horse Judging will start on March 4 at 3:30 at the Extension Office. The contest is May 3 in Athens.

Junior and Senior DPA

Portfolios have been turned in by 10 4-H'ers. These 4-H'ers will be participating at DPA at Rock Eagle March 7 - 9, 2008. Please call 770-646-2026 to make an appointment to practice your demonstration.

Georgia Gym Dogs

Come see the Gym Dogs in Athens on March 21 . In order to go you must have participated in an activity outside your school club meeting. Cost is $20. T-shirts are extra. Deadline to register is March 7. Please call 770-646-2026 for more information.

Camp Registration

Cloverleaf Camp registration for CPA and DPA participants is March 21. All other Cloverleafs can begin registering on March 25. Registration will run until April 4. Cost is $250 with $75 due at registration. Teen Leaders can call the office for an application. Please call 770-646-2026 for more information.
