Testing Services:
County Extension offices provide testing services through The University of Georgia. There are many types of tests available such as water, soil, chicken litter, plant tissue, hazardous chemicals, sludge, and feed and forage - just to name a few!
In order to assure that you receive the appropriate test for your situation, please contact the office at 706/754-2318 to learn test options, pricing, packaging, and office hours for bringing in your test samples.
Samples must be packaged properly for the test being performed. This is important because test results can be impacted by improper packaging.
2007 Drought in Georgia:
The entire state remains under the level-2 outdoor water-use schedule. Outdoor watering is allowed only from midnight to 10 a.m. on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at odd-number street addresses and on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at even-number addresses. Watering is banned all day on Fridays.
Northeast Georgia is classified as a Moderate Drought area. Local water authorities may further restrict outdoor watering so be sure to check to make sure that your area is not under a more restrictive ban.
For information on who may be exempt from this ban, contact your local water office or city hall.
