General Info

4-H assists young people to acquire knowledge, develop life skills, and form attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing, productive and contributing members of society through “hands-on” learning experiences.

4-H is part of the University of Georgia’s Cooperative Extension in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.Summer Activity

4-H is:

  • 4-H In-School Club Meetings
  • Community Pride Programs
  • County Day Camps
  • Summer Educational Programs

4-H is independent learning experiences using writing, interviewing and public speaking skills through 4-H demonstrations and illustrated talks.

4-H is camping to further mental, social, physical, and emotional skills toward a more positive self-image; good citizenship and leadership.

4-H is judging evaluation and comparison opportunities through several judging contests such as:

4-H is leadership opportunities designed to encourage youth to develop the leadership skills of planning, organization, group discussion process, and decision making.

4-H is fun at such 4-H days as: UGA Trip

  • Braves Game
  • Six Flags
  • UGA Football Game
  • UGA Basketball Game

4-H Pledge

4-H Emblem

4H CloverThe emblem is a four-leaf clover with the letter “H” on each leaf. The letters in the emblem represent head, heart, hands and health. Use of the emblem is approved per regulations by the state 4-H office.
