Watermelon Capital
Cordele, the seat of Crisp County, is known as the "Watermelon Capital of the World." Farmers in the county ship more than 125 million watermelons to markets around the United States. Other major crops raised in the Cordele area include pecans, cotton, and peanuts.

Events
We are now signing up for Cloverleaf Project Achievement, this event is for 5th & 6th graders. The last day to sign up is February 19, 2010. This event is being held in Sumter County, on March 20, 2010.
Come one, Come all! It's that time again. 4-H camp sign-up day is Friday, February 12, 2010. Bring a $100 deposit and a small photograph of the child going to camp. The camps Crisp County will be attending:
Cloverleaf camp: Camp Wahsega (5th & 6th grades) June 7-11, 2010
Junior camp: Camp Jekyll ( 7th & 8th grades) June 28- July 2, 2010
Senior camp: Camp Wahsega (9th - 12th grades) July 5-9, 2010
