Join 4-H as a member or a leader by contacting the Coweta County Extension Office at 770-254-2620. University of Georgia staff can help you pursue involvement in Coweta County 4-H and you will have access to a world of opportunities in 4-H. Select from more than 50 project areas, participate in any of hundreds of events, apply for scholarships, travel around the world. Your county extension 4-H office is the door of opportunity for you.
Membership guidelines for students:
Any person, regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, or disability may enroll as a 4-H member.
Youth who are nine years of age and have not reached their nineteenth birthday on or before January 1, of the current year may enroll in 4-H clubs and groups.
Adult Volunteer leaders are welcome and needed in all county programs. A registration form and certification process is available in all county extension offices.

Come Camping With Us!!! June 23 – 27, 2008
Your mom, dad, aunt, uncle or grandparent (s) may have camped at Rock Eagle when they were your age and they are still
talking about it. Now it is your turn to join in the fun. Swimming! Raptors! Tennis! Canoeing! Archery! Wildlife! These are
just a few of the many activities you are able to participate in throughout the week. Now get excited…it is just about time! 4-H Cloverleaf Summer Camp at Rock Eagle invites fifth and sixth graders to summer camp.

- 2008 State 4-H Horse School - June 15-19 - Perry, Ga. The Georgia State 4-H Horse School is held each year in Perry, Georgia. 4-H'ers and their horses enjoy 5 days and 4 nights of resident instruction. Professional riding instructors offer classes in Stock Seat (Western), English Hunt Seat on the Flat, English Hunt Seat Over Fences, English Saddleseat and Contest Events (Running) at all levels. The cost is $300 for the week and includes all meals and lodging for the 4-H'er, stalling for the horse, registration fees and a horse school t-shirt. Applications are due April 25th and can be obtained at the Coweta County Extension Office. Or click below:

- The M.O.N.I.E.S. 4-H Financial Club. Youth 13 - 18 are encouraged to join the new and exciting M.O.N.I.E.S. 4-H Financial Club to learn all about Managing Our Needs in Everyday Situations. Members will be part of the state recognized Georgia 4-H as well as learn practical tips about saving, investing and managing day to day expenses. The M.O.N.I.E.S. meet monthly. - Coweta Frogs (Middle School 4-H Club)
- You are invited to join the middle school club The Frogs! Our goal is to help each child reach his/her full potential while developing self-esteem and leadership skills. Our emphasis on learn by doing techniques uses self-testing, role playing and team presentations to achieve program goals.
Monthly meetings are offered on the second Tuesday from August through June. The meetings are held at the Coweta County Extension Office, 275 Pine Road in Newnan from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. Programs are designed to promote a fun and constructive learning experience, to develop an understanding of self and personal needs, improve teamwork skills and leadership abilities. - Check here for April information.

Each summer, 4-H'ers have the opportunity to attend camp at one of the five 4-H centers:
- Rock Eagle 4-H Camp
- Wahsega 4-H Camp - 4-H Wilderness Challenge Camp will be June 30 - July 4. Registration for 2008 Wilderness Challenge Camp is now closed. Please call the office at 770-254-2620 to put your name on a waiting list.
- Jekyll Island 4-H Center - Registration for 2008 Junior Camp is open. Please call the office at 770-254-2620 to enroll.
- Tybee Island 4-H Center/Burton 4-H Center - Want to enjoy a dolphin cruise? A ghost tour? Dinner cruise on River Street? Hands on activities about coastal habitats and the organisms that live near the ocean. Find out more about this year's 4-H Senior Camp June 30 - July 4!

Conferences
During the year, Junior (7th and 8th graders) and Senior (9th - 12th graders) 4-H'ers have the opportunity to attend district and state conferences. While attending, you will meet new friends from across Georgia, participate in community service projects, and attend exciting workshops. Registration and application information will be given out during 4-H club meetings or you can call the 4-H Office.

General Info
The mission of Georgia 4-H is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills, and forming attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing, productive and contributing members of society. This mission is accomplished through "hands-on" learning experiences, focused on agricultural and environmental issues, agriculture awareness, leadership, communication skills, foods and nutrition, health, energy conservation, and citizenship.
