Junior County Council

Junior 4-H’ers are able to participate outside of their school’s 4-H lessons by attending a monthly meeting at our 4-H office in Jonesboro. We meet every second Tuesday of the month from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. During Junior County Council students are able to meet other Juniors from around the county, participate in other educational lessons, community service, and learn about other opportunities for their age group.

Annual Junior Leadership Day

7th and 8th grade 4-H'ers are invited to an annual leadership day that is normally held on a selected day during a teacher’s workday. Students are able to register and attend a leadership day at Camp Fortson in Hampton, Georgia where they are exposed to environmental education and team building skills. ***Scheduled day is subject to the Clayton County Public Schools teacher workdays***

Project Achievement

4-H’ers are encouraged to complete a 4-H project which is also known as an illustrated speech. 7th and 8th graders must complete a portfolio before competition that is related to their chosen category that summarizes a whole year worth of work and prepare an illustrated speech that is a maximum of ten minutes along with poster boards. Junior 4-H’ers will only compete at the district level which is in March at Rock Eagle in Eatonton, GA.
