Eating Right, Spending Smart, and Raising Kids… Living Well!

Family & Consumer Sciences (FACS) Extension Agents offer non-biased, research-based solutions and cutting edge knowledge on many topics, including:

FACS agents also partner with employers and other agencies to enhance economic development by educating our present and future work force. Examples include:

  • Health education and chronic disease prevention programs;
  • Required employee training such as food safety for restaurant workers and child development training for child care providers;
  • Life skills education to reduce turnover and increase productivity, such as managing finances and balancing work/family responsibilities.

Additionally, Athens-Clarke County Extension offers the Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP). EFNEP teaches families with limited resources how to feed their family quick and easy nutritious meals on a budget.

  • ServSafe® Manager
    • The Manager's Training course is Thursday, October 9th, from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm. Deadline to register is September 26th. Download the registration form here.
  • ServSafe® Employee Training
  • PREPARE
    • Georgia coules who receive at least 6 hours of premarital counseling or educational service before filing for their marriage license can receive a $35.00 discount on their marriage license fee.
