Camden County Cloverleaf 4-H:

Cloverleaf Camp at Rock Eagle 4-H Center 2007

Camden County 4-H attended Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton, GA from July 9 – 13, 2007 for 4-H Summer Camp.  112 campers, teen leaders, adult volunteer leaders, and 4-H staff enjoyed a week of fun and learning.  Activities included learning about the native history and culture of the area, animals, plants, lake ecology, and also participating in various recreational activities including archery, canoeing, sailing, raft building, putt-putt, softball, kickball, swimming, wet games, and dances.  The evenings at Rock Eagle included a special presentation by Native American’s about their culture and history, a counselor led variety show, and the Tribal Pageant portraying this history of the Rock Eagle. The campers from Camden County were members of the Muskogee Tribe and assisted the tribe in winning Pageant Games and the Tribal Shield for the week.   While at camp the 4-H’ers had the special treat of seeing Frankie Porter, a former Camden County 4-H’er, as a Tribal Council Mico and the leader to the waterfront activities.

Special thanks to Woodbine Steering Committee, Woodbine Better Home Town Association, anonymous donors from Sugarmill Elementary School, and the Rock Eagle Baker’s Trust Scholarship that provided 13 camp scholarships to individuals that could not afford the camp registration fee. The Baker’s Trust Scholarship also required participation in a district 4-H activity in the 2006 – 2007 school year. Donations are needed to help provide scholarships for next years camping season.

Participants included Adult Leaders Kevin Boyer, Donna Brewer, Beth Carter, Jessica Deen, Amber Defore, C. J. Lee, Carol Smith, Mark Turney, and Clyde Urquhart.  Teen Leaders include Holly Carter and Ashley Hill.  4-H Campers include Donald Anderson, Nathan Ashcroft, Christopher Bahr, Shelby Bailey, Jalen Baker, Jessica Baker, Steven Bays, Ruben Bradford, Savannah Brown, Brandon Bullock, Caroline Campbell, David Cardenas, Cody Carter, Emily Chester, Jason Coffel, Tyler Cooley, Staci Cowart, Brooke Creppel, Jessica Davenport, Emily Dawkins, Hope Dean, Joshua Decareaux, Brandon Deen, Sachi Delacruz, Bailey Dillon, Allison Dobo, Sarah Donegan, Ferrell Drury, Teresa Edwards, Jennifer Fertig, Eric Franks, Memphis Franks, Melissa Fry, Kayla Gatzke, Mikayla Gerick, Daniel Gibbs, Adam Goble, Nicholas Gordon, Elyse Gowen, Joshua Hall, Crystal Henderson, David Hennessey, Jaime Herring, Faith Holmes, Nicole Howell, Patrick Hughes, Caitlin Jenkins, Zachary Jenkins, Matthew Johns, Dalton Jones, Myah Jordan, Abby Kahler, Bryce Kahler, Heather Keith, Kalina Kolodziejczyk, Zachary Lacaria, Brook Lauf, Waylon Laws, Brittany Lee, Kaiti Lewis, Christain Liberty, Sarah Lottinville, Altimease Lowe, Vyctoria Mack, Jacob Manning, Halie Mathews, Kayla Matta, Brianna Mays, Shelby McCaskill, Daniel McClendon, Jacob McClendon, Austin Miller, Presley Miller, Charity Morrison, Chastity Morrison, Katie Morton, Taylor O’Quinn, Kaley Parchinski, Caroline Patrick, Christine Raab, Andrea Reeder, Hannah Ritter, Eric Ruff, Tessa Shanklin, Rachel Sinclare, Carter Smith, Kaleb Stallones, Haylee Story, Shyann Tafralian, Crystal Teleky, Kole Turney, Trisha Ulieme, Addison Urquhart, Rachel Warden, Jared Warner, Cera Weaver, Courtney Wheeler, Cariya White, and Matthew Willis.
