4-H District Project Achievement 2007 - Alma, Ga

Camden County 5th & 6th grade 4-H’ers participated in the 4-H public speaking contest called Cloverleaf Project Achievement on Saturday, March 24th in Alma, Georgia. The 4-H’ers were asked to select a topic of interest (project area) and develop a demonstration to present before their peers and judges with posters and visual aids. This event is a great opportunity for the 4-H’ers to increase their self-esteem, practice their public speaking skills, and make new friends.  These 4-H’ers competed against 12 other counties in their project area.

Participants include from KES Tyler Cooley – 4th place Skateboarding, Kalina Kolodziejczyk – 2nd place Air Science, Jennifer Fertig - Sea Turtles, Crystal Teleky - Birds; from WES Eric Franks – Dog Care; from SMES Shelby Bailey – 2nd place Swimming, Charity Morrison – Interior Design, & Chastity Morrison – Dog Care; from CRES Jamie Herring –  Football; from MLC Heather Keith – 2nd place Health, Hope Dean – 3rd place Ocean Ecology, & Nikki Samuels – 3rd place Target Sports; from CMS Caroline Campbell – Fire Safety & Memphis Franks – Cat Care; and from SMMS Nic Cole – 1st place Fishing. Junior and Senior 4-H’ers including Jaime Kelsey, Ashley Hill, Helen Clark, Morgan Horne, Maribeth Bottorff, and Justina Outler served as teen leaders for this event by helping the Cloverleaf 4-H’ers and assisting with the carnival games and lunch duties.
