Butts County Extension Office:
News & Events

News

Butts County 4-H has had a busy summer with 56 Cloverleaf 4-H members and adult chaperone attending Burton 4-H Center at Tybee Island and 9 Junior 4-H members and adult leaders attending camp at Camp Jekyll on Jekyll Island. Both groups enjoyed learning about beach ecology, marsh ecology and healthy lifestyles while enjoying swimming and hiking.

Summer Fun/Enrichment classes this summer were all about water and the title was Wonderful Wet Wednesdays. We did activities ranging from swimming, fishing and studying how our water is treated before it gets to and after it leaves our home. We also had a group of classes taught by Senior 4-H members for the Cloverleaf 4-H members called Fabulous Fridays with My 4-H Friends. On Fridays we learned how to make a pillow, line dancing, crafts, and food preservation.

Fun and education was enjoyed by all the 4-H members that attended. We are looking forward to next years exciting summer enrichment/fun program.
