University of Georgia Family of Consumer Sciences Extension places non-biased, research-based infomation at your fingertips. County agents and program specialists throughout the state provide cutting edge knowledge on many topics, including food safety, nutrition, preservation, child development, parenting skills, personal financial management, housing, and healthy living habits.
ServSafe
Effective February 2008, the State of Georgia requires each food service establishment to employ one manager who has passed a food safety exam that is accredited by the Conference for Food Protection (CFP). The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension has joined forces with the Georgia Restaurant Association to provide Georgia's food service industry with the best in food safety training. We have 33 county-based educators who teach ServSafe® workshops throughout the state. Extension has been offering ServSafe® manager and employee certification programs throughout the state since 1997.
