Bamboo Farm & Coastal Gardens: About Us

Colorbar

The Bamboo Farm & Coastal Gardens began in 1919, as a US Department of Agriculture (USDA) plant introduction station.  There are many mature plants that were originally introduced by USDA plant collectors. Most of the plants were introduced from Asia.

The Bamboo Farm and Coastal Gardens (BFCG) is a 46-acre extension education center supported jointly by the UGA Extension and the Chatham County Commission.
